This is good news for a planet that’s losing forests at a rate of about one soccer field every 1.2 seconds. And that doesn’t factor in data related to the forest fires in the Amazon this summer.
Based on a theme of “you print one, we’ll plant one,” PrintReleaf leverages paper usage reporting and equates the number of trees needed to reforest that usage on an equivalent basis in geographic areas of need.
ABS partnered with PrintReleaf in August 2018. Since then the company’s customers have offset the equivalent of 7,602,143 standard pages of paper consumption by reforesting 912 standard trees on the PrintReleaf Exchange. Customers may sign up for PrintReleaf as an add-on to a managed print services contract. Through an online portal, customers may select the managed forestry projects where their trees will be planted, in addition to tracking and reporting on their direct reforestation impact.
